Happiness in a Cone!

Today this warm summer weather had me dreaming of cool treats!

Slurpees, Snowies, and Ice Cream,
are dietary staples at our house during the summer months.
If the temperature is above 80 degrees any of the three are fair game for the dinner!

I dug through last years pics to find this Ice Cream Bar I did for Kolby's Baptism party.

It got me thinking ...
Wouldn't a good Ol' fashioned Ice Cream Social be a fun summer get-together.

Aloha

A couple months ago,
my dear friend asked me if I would plan a Hawaiian Luau to celebrate her and her sons upcoming birthdays.
~
Of Course! - I love a good reason to design a party.
What a fun project it turned out to be!

This beautiful young lady is the Birthday Girl herself.

She wanted her day to be filled with colorful island décor,
traditional Hawaiian Food, and of course family fun.

This lei basket welcomed the guests.

We used lanterns adorned with tropical flowers, pineapples and coconuts
atop fishing net for centerpieces on the outside tables.

We laced the patio with Tiki masks, garlands and paper lanterns.

We filled the serving tables with fun Hawaiian pieces.

'Cheddar' the Goldfish made his debut.

This handsome guy, had the big job of leading the way
and signaling the start of the much awaited performance.

These darling girls entertained all with a surprise dance just for Grandma.

I used the free printables from Here to make the skewer tags and Luau banner.

The kitchen island waiting to be filled with delicious food.

Nobody went home hungry!

Isn't she a doll!

Fun was had by all!

Happy Birthday sweet friend,
or
 as they say in Hawaii...

Happy April!

Wahoo!!! I made it through March.

20- 13 hour work days, 2 Kids Birthdays, losing our pal Kilo,
the emotional rollercoaster ride of saying goodbye to dear clients and friends,
starting a new job, many midnight study sessions,
Green Dinner, my Insurance exam and Easter.
And that's NO JOKE!

Now lets bring on Spring!

Farewell

Funny how giant, slobbering, hairy beasts
become attached to your heart!
You will be missed dear friend!

Gathering the Green

Saint Patrick's Day is coming up...
Do you have your green goods ready?

If you live in Utah,
Maceys grocery store is a great place to find inexpensive emerald gems.

Head on over to Bath and Body Works,
and douse yourself with a little luck.

I mentioned the Leprechaun bringing Lucky Charms for breakfast a couple posts back.
I recently found this all green edition at Walmart.

Or you could always go with the classic,
Green eggs and Ham!

Highlights

Our first day and a half in paradise,
was filled with beautiful views, amazing food and warm breezes.

We visited our favorite little spot to eat,
The Sardina Cantina.

We drove down to Cabo and hung out at the marina and Medano Beach.

 We dined on mouthwatering cuisine!

In the evening we walked along the waves to a little beachside café for dinner.
I'd like to say this was followed by a romantic sunset stroll along the beach.
But it was not.

Shortly after our meal we were both overcome with sickness no one should ever have to experience!
The rest of our vacation was spent stuck in the condo,
snacking on saltines and Sprite, recovering from food poisoning.

We did make it out the last couple days to experience a few excursions.

I finally became a dolphin trainer, if only for the day.

And we ziplined across this canyon eight times.

Until next time,

~ Hasta Luego ~
